Our first Journal was published in May 2004 by former BHMA Chair and current JHH editor-in-chief Professor David Peters.

We started by publishing 4 editions annually for a few years and since then have published 3 annually. These come out in Spring, Summer and Autumn/Winter. Please join our newsletter to be informed of journal release dates.

How to access the journal

Free digital downloads via checkout:

  • All but our most recent 5 journals (18-20 months) are NOW FREE to download by everyone!
  • Members and those with a Journal Subscription, when logged in, should see current journals as free.
  • Click on the links below or in the sidebar and go through the checkout process.
  • Scroll down this page to see all our journals.

BHMA Members:

  • Members can download all issues for free as above – OR – read our recent issues via our Member’s Mighty Network platform.
  • Print journal subscriptions are available for £20pa (3 journal issues)
  • Additional copies can be bought at a discount.

Digital Journal Subscriptions:
Subscriptions for digital downloads (+/- print copies) are available for individuals and institutions.

Print Journals:
Our print journal is available to those buying a subscription (3 editions annually). This will be mailed to you by us after each edition is printed. We are also planning to trial using Lulu, a print on demand supplier, to purchase some of our back issues.

All print subscriptions include free digital downloads when logged in via my account, or below.
