The Retreat

A unique 5-day retreat with exceptional facilitators and wisdom keepers, using traditional knowledge and wisdom to enable deep connection for participants, with an invitation to take this wisdom back to your community and continue the work.

An Elder-level understanding of the essential role of Nature, community, people and meaning in the ecology of the planet. Includes “A Storytelling Pilgrimage to Dinas Emrys, the tower or legend, through Mythic Snowdonia’, and the only opportunity to commune with the secret Sacred Druidic Site. A rare opportunity to visit one of the most sacred and ‘thin’ places. This will be the only occasion this group of wisdom keepers will be teaching together this year.

There is an optional pilgrimage to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island, “Island of the Bards”), known as the legendary “Island of 20,000 Saints”, including the mythic resting place of Merlin and King Arthur. In 2023, the island became the first site in Europe to be awarded International Dark Sky Sanctuary certification.

Intention

To create a sublimely safe and expertly held experience unfolding over several days, using Nature and embodiment as container and teacher, facilitated with compassion and empathy by dedicated and experienced wisdom keepers, using Spiral Path, Medicine Walk, elemental, Druidic and Shamanic knowledge, wisdom, art, movement, song and breath.

Location

Perhaps the greatest facilitator in the team, the land of Cae Mabon Eco-Retreat Centre, Snowdonia, in one of the most emotive and deeply rooted locations on the planet.

Cae Mabon, called the ‘Welsh Shangri- La’, sits within an ancient valley, beside a river that courses down from hilltop waterfalls to form a llyn (lake) in the foothills of Eryri (Snowdonia). The 800 acres around Cae Mabon is profoundly rich in myth and legend and forms the ‘songline’ of the Math-Mabon part of the Mabinogi, part of ‘the most mythically rich twenty miles in Britain’ as Cae Mabon founder Eric Maddern calls it. Professor Tom Woolley declared Cae Mabon the ‘number one natural building project in the UK’.
